An expense tracker in Urdu
Updated 10 October 2026
Quick answer: Tijaorii runs fully in Urdu (right to left), Roman Urdu or English; you switch in Profile → Language. You can type entries or say them, and the monthly summary, categories and PDF report follow the language you pick. It is free.
Why language matters for a money app
An expense tracker only works if everyone who spends uses it. In many homes the person who buys rashan and pays the bills reads Urdu more easily than English menus. A tracker in Urdu means the whole household can keep it up, not just the one person who set it up.
Three ways to use it
| Language | Looks like | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| اردو | Nastaliq script, right to left | Parents and anyone who reads Urdu best |
| Roman Urdu | Urdu words in English letters: “Kharcha save karein” | People who text in Roman Urdu every day |
| English | English labels, rupee amounts | Office users, or mixed households |
Switch the app to Urdu
- Open Tijaorii and go to Profile.
- Tap Language and choose اردو or Roman Urdu. The whole app changes; Urdu also lays it out right to left.
- Tap + to add an entry. Amounts stay in clear digits, so 1,500 always reads 1,500.
- To speak an entry, use the microphone and say it the way you would tell someone, for example “chai 150” or “petrol 3000”. Check the amount before saving.
- At month end, open the summary or share the month as a PDF. It uses the language you chose.
Good to know
- Speaking in Urdu uses your iPhone’s own speech recognition. If Urdu speech is not installed on the phone, Tijaorii tells you and listens in English instead.
- Each person on a shared book can pick their own language. The entries are the same; only the labels change.
- Numbers are always written the same way in every language, so totals never get confused.
